ACCOUNT OF MY DAYS
Sequence: 7
REPORT
when I say
now
the bombs drop
on Baghdad
the word now
is another bomb
it falls on Baghdad
and on your idea of Baghdad
over and over
it lands and is accurate
then it goes to sleep
if it dreams
it dreams it is in all corners
of a large room at once
or that it is the room
having no memory
no one in its dream
is familiar and
having no future
nothing happens
now awakes
feeling its beauty
and danger
it strides through me
to my mouth's brink
a naked diver
above the hush
testing its gravity
ready as ever
to plunge
