TOWARDS SOLSTICE this long night no dark that can't be burnt this deep water washing every foot that touches here this bone running through me talking on and on as though its tongue had no master my shoes rest while their tread is still running outdoors everywhere my feet carried them my sight is liquor mind gets drunk on never sober its seeing continues under lids and behind the walls of sleep where my elephants of loneliness park their hind ends precious in the cold north is the most lost I've ever gotten but the sun never losing its longing for me keeps up the search red highways endless
