A GLIMPSE for weeks we looked at the sky the clouds! how much more beautiful than ever! piling up in complex forms and stretching out catching every shade of light to color themselves it was like another world drawing close enough to see but just out of reach the clouds! while the whole land grew hotter dried out and hard hopeless the grass empty and streams stilled up there you could see it a park and playland full of wishes running on easy roads the place our lost calm drifted to the home of our other selves and all the crazy things we do in our sleep in the valleys of it you could just about see people of some sort out with their animals on a walk over our heads and some tried shouting up to them to ask what they could see from there that was coming to us next but the space between was too great the words fell back discouraged and it seemed the white and gray shapes of them pulled back so nothing could come across but the beauty of it and the quiet and that was all we had the clouds! the clouds!
