10/14/11 a fire burns fiercely in the downpour the fire is made of sticks left from the building destroyed by this summer's tornado when we had money we built houses and traveled we probed deeply into things of the spirit which led to arguments we accused each other of being materialistic but we were talking about money which is only an idea the sticks now there's matter for you the fire though it can be made to represent spirit is a material process and the smoke rising in the rain is fine particles pushed around by the finer particles that make up the mass of air which is moving in a wind through and around rain smoke fire sticks and the house nearby with a corner of its roof torn off was shelter once but now means vulnerability to our onlooking spirits
