3/29/05 the day made dimmer in the hemlock's shade a shroud of daffodils around it buried foundation walls and a busted tub nearby keep us in mercy outside of time or in the present only we are spared mind is shadowed by memory stretched over it and pressed reliefless peering for the future keep us the day the daffodils went in someone straightened from the knee ache sighing maybe that day too buzzards from their roost wound skyward nearby the flowers have not failed gold of them crowding here but he or she who straightened amongst them is now out of time
