ACCOUNT OF MY DAYS
Sequence: 3
2/4/03
this morning the sky was a sea of clouds
all day the wind blew sharply
I kept the house warm and tried to do my business
but my mind seemed thick and my will flat
I walked into the woods
without feeling I would find anything there
I took two naps
nothing I read compelled my attention
and anything I wrote seemed far away
there's nothing inside me I thought
I'm light as a balloon and could float away
the sun is beaming from the west now
the sky is a vacant blue
the wind has taken away our gray sea
and left only a few scraps behind
I believe in myself very little
and all these things seem empty:
the day the sky poetry
it doesn't matter that I know they're full too
this was the way it was supposed to be today
empty and make the best of it
