apart from the eyes you have
there is that which is
how else you see
this is the famed realm
of duplicates
where everything that exists
exists twice
once in the world once in you
even those things your eyes can't see
and
it is sometimes hoped
exists a third time
because there is another element
neither world nor you
in which both find reflection
in the careful privacy
out of which your speech is imagined
there are these two with you:
world and the possible other
and if by light
you mean that which makes it possible
to see all three and that which
speaks out of the crowded privacy
perhaps there is a fourth...
