ACCOUNT OF MY DAYS
Sequence: 3
I WROTE THIS WHILE THINKING ABOUT WRITING IT (TITLE LAST)
warm air makes the snow soften
warm air makes the snow soften
warm air makes the snow soften
I am determined before I write to know what it is
I will put down
I am determined before I write to forget what it is
I mean to say
weakened by an injury I can no longer lift
the weight I am used to thinking of as an acceptable burden
therefore am I still myself during convalescence
since what was once possible for me to do in the world
has become out of reach merely an imagined act
I see a tree it hides an immortal face
I see a large stone it hides an immortal face
I slip on a patch of ice it hides an immortal face
I put a small stone in my pocket it hides an immortal face
I read a book and steal the words it hides an immortal face
